Photogenic Osaka!/

Even if I walk around the same area in Osaka, I always find some interesting or funny things in the streets to photograph. Here are some examples taken over the past couple of months around the "Minami" area...

World Press Photo/

Flyer
I just made it for the final day of World Press Photo 2014 exhibition at Herbis Hall in Osaka yesterday.

Herbis Hall, Osaka.
It was quite exhausting to see all the graphic images at the show, for that reason (and the heat) I did not have much energy to take many photos. Here are the few I did take while walking through a very busy, very hot and very humid Umeda, Osaka...

Osaka Snaps /

I took some snaps while I was in Osaka a couple days ago.
A relatively short walk between JR Fukushima station to Higobashi subway station took me some time as I kept stopping to take pictures...

Osaka Contrasts/

On the train.

Osaka is the second biggest city in Japan. It has such vibrant characters and I have always loved this place. It must be the same in big cities all around the world but Osaka has two sides as a metropolitan area. There are skyscrapers, endless shopping malls and high end apartment complexes...

New buildings.

Just a few minutes walk away you will find streets with shops run by families and neighbourhoods where people have lived for many years.
I took some snaps while I was in Juso earlier this week. It is a typically local place and shows the contrast between that area and the shiny new facade of the Osaka station surrounds...
