Group Exhibition at Nadar Osaka 2011

I have added a couple of links to galleries...

Nadar Osaka offers not only a space to show your work but also holds regular interesting workshops and events. The staff have a great understanding of photography and they have a passion for analog photography as well. They will give you great advice and be a wonderful help even if you are exhibiting your work for the first time.

Another gallery in Osaka, Gallery Avi was decorated by the owner himself which gives the space a warm and homey feeling. They offer unique themes for the group exhibitions and sometimes hold solo shows as well. The owner is a big fan of toy cameras including holga and using them to create serious and interesting pieces of work. To see some of his work you can check out his own website Fubuki Taijyu.

These two galleries are the ones where I have actually exhibited in the past. It is a good opportunity to learn how you want to present your work and by getting reactions from the audience you get motivated and discover next challenge too.

ナダール・大阪は写真の展示はもちろんですが、その他に興味深いワークショップや写真関連のイベント企画・開催されています。運営しているスタッフの方は、写真に関して豊富な知識を持っています。特にアナログ写真（フィルムカメラで撮影し、レンズ焼きでプリント）には情熱を注いでいて、このデジタル全盛の時代のさなか、アナログ愛好者としては励ましと希望をもらいます。展示に関しても、的確なアドバイスをしてくれますし、初めて写真展に応募する方でも心強いお手伝いをして頂けます。

もうひとつはギャラリー・アビィ、写真映像家・吹雪大樹さんが手作りで内装を手がけたアットホームな空間です。おもしろい視点で捉えた企画展のほかに個展の開催も行っています。また、オーナーはトイカメラ、ホルガの愛好家でもあります。個人のホームページから作品をご覧頂けますので、ご興味のある方はどうぞ。

上記の２つのギャラリーは、わたし自身が過去に写真の展示をさせて頂いたことろです。
写真展に参加するというのは、自分の作品をどう見せたいかというだけでなく、来てくださった方々の反応をいただき、次への創作意欲や新たな挑戦にもつながるのでとても良い経験になります。
